This blog is more of a way to help me understand my life and how I’ve ended up being diagnosed autistic or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a middle-aged woman.
The heading is what I wrote into the questionnaire at the start of the assessment. Obviously I did not know I am autistic, I was always introverted, liked reading, loves nature and animals. I hate shopping and board-games.
I am also dyslexic, I found this gem out at college as a mature student after my friends approached the year tutor with concerns about me. I found the coursework hard, always failing and always “almost there” or “nearly there” when it came to getting the much coveted merits required to pass the year. Whereas my friends didn’t have near as much difficulty getting them.
So, this blog is going to help me, hopefully try to make sense of it all. I’m new to this blogging stuff so the setup is very basic.
